Prayer Mapping
Psychology and mental health providers often leave out God, Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Bible from understanding and tackling anxiety and depression. If the Christian faith is part of your mental health work, it can often be more on a "head" level, not a "heart" level. What is often missing is how you apply your faith and the power of your relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Fortunately, God gave us practical and powerful strategies in the Bible to help us grow closer to him and have more peace in our daily lives. It can be hard to find these strategies and it can be even more challenging to figure out how to use them when you have a lot of anxious or depressive thoughts.
My goal in this book is to share one such Biblical tool, which I have called Prayer Mapping. Prayer Mapping may help you fill in the missing puzzle piece of your mental health work. Philippians 4:6-9 is the foundation of the Prayer Map. Together, we will look at thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and work on including these things in your prayer life. We will then use a specific Biblical strategy to transform your mind so that you can focus on God's truth and experience more of the peace that He promises.
